Jim Edmonds? Really?

It's been reported that the Cubs are interested in Jim Edmonds. To play center field. On their major league team.

Felix Pie would get sent down to AAA, with Reed Johnson likely platooning with Edmonds.

Bad, bad, bad, bad, idea.

There are fans who don't want Edmonds on the Cubs because he was formerly on the Cardinals. Those fans are idiots. They should get over it - just like Bulls fans did with Dennis Rodman. Just because Edmonds wore a different hat does not mean he shouldn't be on the Cubs.

The reason he shouldn't be on the Cubs is because he's well past his prime. Edmonds couldn't make the freakin' Padres for crying out loud! He was cut to make room for the great Jody Gerut, who hadn't played in the majors since 2005.

I repeat.

Bad, bad, bad, bad, idea.

The Cubs have time before the trade deadline to get a lefty bat. There's gotta a better move than this.

There's a really good lefty bat available that has hit 762 HRs. You guys are nuts not to pick him up, even for pinch hitting.
